Class Description:

Swim School, developed exclusively for the Grayslake Aquatic Center, is a unique learn to swim program focusing on skill introduction, development, and mastery.

Nine progressive levels of instruction teach children of all ages and abilities fundamental water skills and beginning and advanced swimming strokes.

 

Swim School Curriculum:

Beginner: introduction of fundamental water skills

  1. Tadpole: assisted front and back floats
  2. Guppy:unassisted front and back floats
  3. Minnow:coordinated kicks and arm movements

Intermediate: introduction of basic swimming strokes

  1. Sea Horse:front crawl
  2. Orca:back crawl
  3. Marlin:elementary backstroke

Advanced:introduction of advanced swimming strokes

  1. Stingray: breaststroke
  2. Dolphin:sidestroke
  3. Shark:butterfly
